Our Process

What makes us different?

Let’s get started.

Each surgeon, nurse, and clinic staff receive role-specific training to provide consistency in patient care, which allows our organization to achieve a reproducible and scalable clinic workflow.

Forms.

Proprietary records are compliant with AAOMS parameters of care, State dental boards, and insurance carriers to ensure adequate documentation.

Compliance.

We take a team approach to compliance. Nurses are trained on record keeping and state-specific regulations. Internal audits are completed regularly by compliance consultants to verify record keeping. We maintain a centralized and automated database with reminders for credentialing, permits, DEA’s, licenses, CE, ACLS, and more.

Sedation.

RN’s assist the surgeons during sedation for improved efficiency, safety, and patient satisfaction. RN’s start IV’s, monitor the patient, complete the anesthesia record, and help the patient recover. AAOMS is recommending advanced training for designated anesthesia assistants, and we are ahead of the curve. Patients are relieved to know that a nurse will be with them throughout the whole process.

Equipment.

Surgeons are required to provide a crash cart, but OMS Consulting ensures instrumentation, equipment, and consumables are ready for an upcoming surgery day.

Post-Op/Pre-Op.

When we pair a surgeon with a clinic, we work with the DSO to streamline the workflow and build scheduling templates to optimize the surgery day. We assist with pre-op and post-op communication with patients and provide each clinic with form-letter documentation of the surgeon’s communication and outcomes.

Record Keeping.

The anesthesia and surgical record is completed by the RN in real time and reviewed by the Surgeon for signature only. An automated cloud based drug log is kept to ensure accurate drug inventory. Dispense logs are completed by the RN and reviewed by the surgeon at the end of each day. This provides a seamless and efficient record keeping process that doesn’t drag out at the end of a long surgery day. The clinic uploads the anesthesia record at the end of the day to guarantee the record is secure at the end of each surgery day.

Training and Financial Guidance.

Providers are given access to an internal website that provides an updated schedule, compensation statements, and training videos created by our lead oral surgeon. Surgeons have access to a professional financial advisor, and CPA to help with questions relating to 1099 income tax planning, and asset protection strategies for independent contractors.
